The Spring Road #3

The Spring Road No.3

Gren and Lilac looked everywhere in this deserted square from one end to the other, from east to west, from north to south. They looked around the fountain and Gren searched the pool of water, but they were unable to find these carrots. The clock was ticking away.
“Where are these carrots?” Gren whispered to himself. He felt like giving up on this unexpected search for these missing carrots.
Suddenly, the wind blew between Gren and Lilac. It felt cold and uncomfortable, and each of them felt a little shiver.
“They should be here. I’m sure they are around here,” said Lilac in a disdainful voice. She felt discouraged inside.
Gren eyes silently continued to sweep the ground for any signs of these missing carrots. Finally, Gren decided to talk with Lilac to get some clues from her.
“Recall,” Gren said to Lilac in a gentle tone. He looked at Lilac, and with searching eyes on her, Gren said, “Do you remember when you lost them?”
“Well….” said Lilac. She paused to think about this question.
“Okay, let me rephrase this…when did you last see them?” asked Gren.
“Over there,” Lilac said in a vague tone that trailed off. “I saw them near this open field near this road next to this square.”
“What?” said, Gren. He looked at where she pointed, but he only saw a vacant area with overgrown weeds. There was nothing there that he could see, but wait…
Gren suddenly saw a little pathway running through this open field next to this square and the main road.
“Hey look!” said Lilac excitedly. She pointed to a tree near this pathway. There was a high tree, and it was one of the tallest trees she had ever seen. Gren thought that this tree was taller than the Tower of Babel!
“There a flower!” Next to this beautiful, white flower were the carrots.
Lilac ran to the flower. Gren chased after Lilac. The flower was incredibly beautiful.
Alas! Next to this flower were the missing carrots.

The Spring Road No.2

The Spring Road No.2

A boy named Gren came into the square where the girl was standing silently. He was wearing a green cap, a bright green coat, and a pair of khaki-colored pants. He wore a deep green shirt beneath his coat. Gren liked green the best.
Gren immediately noticed the girl’s presence. In fact, he thought that her mannerisms were quite strange. If there had been people Gren else, they would have looked her with contempt eyes.
“Hey Rabbit, what’s up?” Gren said cheerfully.
The girl who was called “Rabbit” was surprised by the sound of his voice. This broke her waiting spell. She looked back, and noticed a young boy dressed all in green. She had no idea what to make of him.
The little girl said, “Were you…were you calling me? Who are you? Do you know me? What do you want to?”
“No. I mean, yes I did call you. You look like you are in some kind of trouble!” replied Gren with his head cocked to one side, and gave her a nice smile.
She thought: he looks shy, but at the same time, he did make the first attempt to talk with me. Even if she didn’t know why he did this, she was feeling good that he noticed her.
“Thank you for your kind concern, but really, I’m okay.” said the girl.
“Okay, but…,” said Gren in a loud brave tone of voice. Then, in the next breath, he said, “I’m sorry” in such a small, tiny voice that she hardly heard him.
The girl thought: he must be shy! She felt a little giggle bubbling up from her, but she kept it down inside of her. The girl called Rabbit noticed Gren’s sudden change of voice.
There was silence between them, but they kept looking at each other. The girl named Rabbit and Gren felt comfortable with each without words.
Suddenly, Gren spoke out loud, “I want to do something for you. If you have any problems, you can talk to me. I’ll help you as much as I can. I promise, okay?”
The “Rabbit” girl looked around her. There was nothing to see, but the stone pavement, the weeds, and the fountain that shot up water into the sky.
“I lost my carrots,” The girl declared to Gren.
“Carrots? Orange-colored carrots, right?” said Gren.
“Yes, my carrots are orange and they are missing. My family planted them with love, care and tenderness. I was going to take these carrots to my grandmother.” confessed the Rabbit girl.
“I see,” Gren expressed in a serious, yet thoughtful manner. “Let me look for them with you,” said Gren. “Trust me, we can find them together!” he said with a blaze of confidence and a touch of kindness.
“By the way, my name is Lilac. Now, I am feeling much better with your help,” said the girl named Lilac.

The Spring Road No.1

The Spring Road No.1
*************************************

There was a deserted square in the middle of small town where nobody in the real world knew. A fountain towered over the center of this small square. A saber-shaped nozzle pointed up toward the sky, but the water would flow out and down into the well of the fountain where it formed a small pool of sparkling, blue water.
A girl was standing by the fountain. She was looking around restlessly with her hands folded in back of her as if she was waiting for someone or something to happen. She had a basket with 2 handles on her left hand. Whenever she moved her head around, the little rabbit ears that were decorated on her hood would seemingly sway back and forth, and then right and left. In fact, she didn’t notice that these little rabbit ears were moving at all.
The little girl was in trouble.
